As part of Viking Academy, 70 staff members, including teachers, administrators, secretaries and bus drivers had the opportunity to visit Arsenal-1 at Anduril, gaining a firsthand look at the innovative work happening right here in our community. The visit provided valuable insight into the exciting career opportunities in manufacturing available to both our students and community members. Experiences like these help us better connect classroom to careers while continuing to strengthen our partnership with Anduril. We’re excited to keep building this relationship and expanding opportunities that will prepare our students for successful futures, right here in their own backyard. #VikingPride

It's still summer... but inside our buildings, the learning has already begun! Today marked the kickoff of Viking Academy, our three-day professional development event, and our staff members are making the most of their summer by investing in new ideas, collaborating with colleagues, and sharpening their skills for the year ahead. Thank you to all of our educators for choosing to spend part of your summer growing alongside one another. We can't wait to see all the great things you'll bring back to your classrooms!

Congratulations to Teays Valley High School students Marley Jones and Cohen Carpenter on representing Viking Nation at the 2026 Buckeye Girls State and Buckeye Boys State programs!
Marley had an incredible week, serving as both a participant and director in the Buckeye Girls State Band while also being elected County Sheriff. In that role, she carried out warrants, participated in legal court proceedings, and even toured the Wood County Sheriff's Office and jail to gain firsthand insight into law enforcement.
Cohen proudly represented Teays Valley at Buckeye Boys State, where he performed as a trumpet player in the Buckeye Boys State Band. He was also selected by the elected governor to serve as his speechwriter, crafting speeches and coaching him on speech delivery and etiquette. During the week, Cohen also had the opportunity to meet and speak with Ohio Governor Mike DeWine.
These outstanding leadership programs provide students with hands-on experiences in government, public service, and civic engagement while helping them develop skills that will serve them for years to come.
Way to represent Teays Valley proudly, Marley and Cohen! #VikingPride

The Student Key Communicators group held their final meeting of the school year. This group was created after a suggestion from a parent during one of our Key Communicators meetings, and it has become a valuable way for us to connect directly with students and hear their perspectives. Throughout the year, these students shared thoughtful feedback, creative ideas, and helpful suggestions about their school experiences. We are incredibly grateful for their willingness to speak up, collaborate, and help us continue improving our schools. Ideas discussed this year are already being considered for implementation next school year, and we’re excited about the positive impact these student voices will continue to have across Teays Valley! #VikingPride

There were tears and smiles across the district as Superintendent Kyle Wolfe and Director of Teaching and Learning Beth Keplar got the chance to share some amazing news with 10 of our educational aides. Because of their dedication to our students and their potential as future educators, their path to a Bachelor's Degree in Education at Shawnee State University will be FULLY FUNDED through our partnerships with Shawnee State and other local partners. We cannot wait to see this group lead their own classrooms as licensed Intervention Specialists someday soon!
