ALL In Award recipients were recognized for going above and beyond in their commitment to our students, their colleagues, and the Viking community. Educator of Excellence Award recipients were honored for their outstanding teaching, dedication, and positive impact in the classroom. This morning at Convocation, we had the honor of celebrating a truly golden milestone! These outstanding educators were presented with the Golden Apple Award from the Pickaway County ESC in recognition of their 30 years of dedication to education.
Their decades of service have impacted countless students, inspired colleagues, and strengthened our Viking community in immeasurable ways. Congratulations to each of you on this incredible achievement!
The recipients included Ronna Brisker, Christine Brown, Bruce Bryant, Lin Dawson, Bob DeLong, Annette Fadenholz, Rick Foose, Andi Koch and Jenny Stuckman.

Today during Summer Learning Camp, students took part in a Music Therapy session filled with rhythm, creativity, and connection! These sessions help students build social and communication skills in a fun, engaging way.

The TV Educational Foundation awarded $20,000 to the Teays Valley elementary schools to support the launch of a brand-new STEM class for the upcoming school year! This exciting addition will become part of the specials rotation at all four elementary schools, giving every student the opportunity to explore science, technology, engineering, and math through hands-on, engaging activities. The goal is to spark curiosity, foster problem-solving skills, and lay a strong foundation in these critical areas starting at a young age.

A group of TV staff members wrapped up Orton Gillingham training today. This training is a structured approach to helping struggling readers. The skills gained and reviewed during this training will be invaluable for our students!

Congratulations to the TV treasurer’s department, which is led by treasurer Trey Fausnaugh. They were honored by the Ohio Auditor of State with the Auditor of State Award at tonight’s Board of Education meeting. Of the 6,000 entities that are audited each year, this award is only given to the top 10%. We are grateful for this department for their dedication to the district and its finances.

Congratulations to the TV treasurer’s department, led by Treasurer Trey Fausnaugh, for receiving recognition from the House of Representatives for receiving an Auditor of State Award in honor of its timely, accurate and comprehensive financial statements. Thank you to this hard working team for their meticulous dedication to their work.

Our next spotlight is a familiar face at TV in a new role... get to know Scioto Elementary intervention specialist Tayde Boetcher!

Summer learning camps wrapped up today with some music therapy, outdoor phonics,cooperative game play, cooking and popsicles.  The students had a great time sharpening their learning and life skills.

Due to a scheduling conflict, the Teays Valley High School FOR Club pickleball tournament will now be held on Wednesday, May 8, from 6-9 p.m., with games starting at 6:30. All games will be played at the TVHS tennis courts. We are excited to welcome Heith Good and Mike France to the Board of Education! Tonight was their first official meeting as members of the Board.

Congratulations to the Board of Education members who were sworn in as members of the Board this evening. Roxanne Davis was reelected to the Board while Heith Good and Mike France were elected to their first terms.

Scioto Elementary academic coach Tayde Boetcher - "Mrs. Boetcher is a valuable member of our Scioto staff. She is a 'do it all' teammate and she does it all with a smile. Mrs. Boetcher focuses on the student, his/her needs, and meeting those needs regardless of the time and energy it takes on her part. She's 100% for kids and doing what's best for them always. She jumps in to support wherever we need her. On the daily she runs reading groups, monitors lunches, helps with before/after school dismissal, covers duties and classrooms, as well as helps to lead our BLT team. She is a role model and excels in connecting with not only students, but people in general. She has a special gift of empathy and care that is much appreciated by anyone lucky enough to know her. We are very grateful that Tayde is serving our students here at Scioto and adding value to others each day!"

Scioto Elementary 2nd grade teacher Christa Pontius - "When it comes to advocating for kids and their needs, celebrating the small wins and having incredible patience, Christa Pontius wins the prize. Mrs. Pontius has a gift of connecting with kids and celebrating their successes. She knows the importance of home-school connection and works collaboratively with parents to help her students be successful. She plays a big role in kids' lives and you can tell by her actions, attitude and words that she is passionate about her work."
