7th graders worked extremely hard throughout their Investigating Characterization unit. During this unit students studied an author of their choice by reading two or more novels by that author. They focused on the author’s writing style and craft. Students ended the unit by writing their very own companion book to share their knowledge with others. In their author groups students created fun, unique and engaging activities for their peers to enjoy at our first ever Author Fair! The Author fair was such a fun way to share their work with others!

We are excited to welcome Heith Good and Mike France to the Board of Education! Tonight was their first official meeting as members of the Board.
Congratulations to the Board of Education members who were sworn in as members of the Board this evening. Roxanne Davis was reelected to the Board while Heith Good and Mike France were elected to their first terms.
Special thanks to Mr. McCorvey and Miss. Tussing, along with several Spanish and French students, for visiting and sharing information as well as completing activities with our 8th graders.

Teays Valley West Middle School physical education & health teacher Marie Galloway - "Marie has proven to be a tremendous asset here at West since my arrival. She has provided me much needed insight as to how things have operated around here, taken on classes when short staffed and has helped create special schedules when needed. She has also agreed to be a part of our master schedule team as we look to improve it. I appreciate Marie's willingness to jump in whenever needed and making positive connections throughout our building."
