Health Screening Information
The school nurse performs a health assessment on pupils for possible health problems that might interfere with the child’s classroom performance. The screening procedures may include a health history, parent/teacher observations and the nurse’s professional evaluation. The school nurse will make a referral if an area of concern is identified.
Ohio law requires the school nurse to conduct periodic health screenings. Screenings at Teays Valley are conducted on new students and at the following grade levels:
