Teays Valley High School is excited to announce our partnership with Drug Free Clubs of America (DFCA). This partnership is designed to provide parents and students with preventative and educational resources that support healthy choices. The philosophy of the DFCA is simple; to promote and reward healthy decisions. Each club member will receive a membership card which can be used for discounts at stores and restaurants, prizes in the school, and admission to special school events.
After an initial drug screening, conducted by a third-party professional at school, students will receive a DFCA ID card as recognition of their good decisions and can be used for special member benefits in school and the community. Randomly throughout the year, students may be screened for banned substances. In the event of a positive screening, families are contacted by Drug Free Clubs of America and immediate supportive services are provided for the family and student. The results are confidential between DFCA and the family. The goal is to create a dialogue, provide resources, and help develop a plan towards healthier choices.
The district is committed to supporting your student’s involvement by funding the majority of their membership. You may pick up and fill out a paper application from the office and return it to the high school office or you can sign up through the DFCA website.
