Research tools -
Our students have access to an excellent online research tool that is free to all K-12 students in the state of Ohio. It is called Infohio and gives kids the opportunity to search many different databases to find information on any topic they need. The address is www.infohio.org. Students will need a username and password for home use, and can get those from the library. Any parent wanting to know the username and password can contact me at school.
Any student with a Pickaway county library card can use research materials found on the Pickaway County library website. There is a wealth of information for home use. The Pickaway County library website is http://www.pickawaylib.org.
You will find other resource links on Walnut's Destiny home page, including links to the websites of authors who have visited our school. Simply click on the Destiny logo above to see what else is available.
This year's book fair took place from October 1–October 12. The theme of this year's fair was "All-Star Book Fair - Every reader is a star!!" Thank you to everyone who supported it!

Author Visit 2012
All four elementary buildings hosted illustrator Ralph Masiello in 2012. Mr. Masiello is known for illustrating several of Jerry Pallotta's books. Jerry Pallotta was the 2011 visiting author, and it's a nice connection to follow an author with one of his illustrators. Ralph has also created his own series of how to draw books. Author Visit 2011
Walnut's annual author visit was on May 16. Author Jerry Pallotta visited the school and presented to all of the students and staff throughout the day. He also signed books. To read more about Mr. Pallotta, go to http://www.jerrypallotta.com/.
