Welcome to the Ashville, South Bloomfield and Walnut Elementary Guidance and Counseling page. I am so happy to be able to serve the students, parents and staff of these schools as the guidance counselor. In this position, I am involved in the social, intellectual and emotional development of your children, as well as helping with good decision making, academic success, career exploration and overall confidence and self esteem. We will once again emphasize character education through the use of classroom presentations, individual counseling and direct modeling. I look forward to meeting all students in all three buildings at the beginning of the year and want you to know that counseling services are available to all students. You can contact me by phone, email, through the office, through your child's teacher or by students directly. Never hesitate to contact me with your questions, concerns or information that may be beneficial to the success of your child. I welcome the opportunity to communicate with you at any time.
Elementary Counseling
My role as the Elementary School Counselor is to help children be successful in school and in life. One way this is carried out is by teaching and modeling the character traits of respect, responsibility, honesty, perseverance, fairness, citizenship, trustworthiness, self-discipline and integrity.
What I Do
Instruct classroom guidance lessons
Provide both individual and small group counseling
Communicate with parents
Serve on Intervention Assistance Teams; three times a week
Provide community resource options
Be available for crisis counseling
Provide behavior intervention
Referrals
Made by teachers, staff, parents, students.
Parents can make a referral by contacting the school office, your child's teacher, my extension or email.
