Study Tables
Teays Valley East Middle School will start after school study sessions on Tuesday, September 18, 2012. We believe that this is an excellent opportunity for your child to get some homework completed before leaving school, as well as to receive support or clarification with any aspect of homework in which he/she may be having difficulty.
Study Table will meet in the library most Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-3:15 pm. Study Table does not meet when school is not in session (Snow Days, Early Release Days, etc.) and students will be notified in advance if a particular date is canceled.
Any East student may attend any or all of these sessions. There is no charge for attending. Students should bring their homework, books and any supplies needed to do their work.
To attend, students need to arrive at the library by 2:35 and have a signed Study Table permission form on file. You will find a printable permission form below. In addition, extra copies will be available in the main office and with your student's teachers. Parents must fill out a permission slip in order for their child to attend Study Table.
Study Table will be Tuesday and Thursday at 2:30 pm and will end at 3:15 pm. Please plan on picking up your student promptly at 3:15. Transportation will not be provided.

Rules
The purpose of Study Table is to provide a focused and quiet setting in which a student can complete homework assignments. To maintain an appropriate study and learning environment there are several student expectations:
~ST needs to be a quiet place where students can concentrate and get work done. You can certainly ask for and receive help, but be thoughtful of others. All students may not be working on the same question or subject, so please keep your voices low.
~You are expected to be working on homework or reading while you are at ST.
~Students are expected to arrive with all their needed supplies, including textbooks, agenda book, paper, pens, pencils, worksheets, etc. A reading book should also be brought.
~Study Table begins at 2:30 pm and you must sign in by 2:35 pm to be admitted into ST on any particular day.
~Once you sign into Study Table, you are making the commitment to stay until 3:15 pm. If you need to leave earlier than 3:15 pm, you will need to get a note from your parents stating the time that you need to leave. Study Table is officially over at 3:15.
~Students may not leave Study Table without permission from a staff member.
~Healthy snacks are encouraged and permitted.
